Ecommerce sites expected to make 1,750 sales per minute on Mega Monday
UK ecommerce sites will make more than 1,750 sales a minute on Monday (30 November) as it becomes the busiest online shopping day of the year.
Dubbed ‘Mega Monday’, the combination of being the last payday before Christmas for many people and a weekly increase in online sales on Mondays will mean etailers will take more orders than on any other day.
The Hut Group, who carried out the study, found 81% of people are planning to do their Christmas shopping online this year.
The research also revealed that 71% of consumers think online shopping is the best way to buy Christmas presents.
Last December on the lead up to Christmas, consumers spent £4.67bn
