Focus on internet safety

Children will be warned not to hand over intimate details to strangers they meet online, in the country's first "green cross code" for the internet, to be launched by the government today.

The Daily Telegraph says Gordon Brown will announce the safety code for the web under the slogan 'zip it, block it, flag it'.

The national strategy will encourage youngsters to use the internet but to keep personal information secret.
