A new lease of life online
Equipment & Training have given one local resident a new outlook on life
Anne Setton, age 76, from Knowle, has received a free computer, Internet and training as part of the Knowle West Web project.
Anne said: “ I’ve managed to do emails, which I didn’t think I’d be able to do. I’ve only had four lessons but I am already quite confident now. I do Neighbourhood Watch, but I need to print things off for it. I don’t have a printer yet, but Gerry (who does the free training) is lovely and kind and lets me print off things in his office.”
“I’ve also been typing up my life story for the grandchildren, so they’ll have something to keep from me when I’m gone. I want to go into ancestry next. Gerry set it up on my computer, so I’ll be filling in the forms and going to the library where there are people there to help me and that’ll be very interesting; it will be my next hobby.”
“My son came over the other day. I was on the computer and he said ‘so this is what you’ve been getting up to’ and I said ‘I’m getting on with my life!’ And using the computer really has given me a whole new outlook on life, it’s been great!”
