Clydach Vale
The Clydach Vale project is no longer active
The EverybodyOnline project in Clydach Vale was launched in March 2004 and closed in November 2005.
Clydach Vale is a village located in the Rhondda Valley in South Wales with a population of 3,165. It was chosen was as a location for an EverybodyOnline project due to its low Internet connectivity and lack of public ICT facilities.
The project officer’s aim was to build partnerships with local organisations to ensure that access was more readily available and suitable for the needs of the community. By running computer taster sessions, job search workshops and informal courses residents were provided with the opportunity to gain skills and see how digital technology could make a difference to their lives.
Sustainable progress
The innovative work of EverybodyOnline in Clydach Vale is now being continued by a national programme for Wales, Communities@One. This programme will now be delivering projects aimed at engaging communities with digital technology across the Rhondda Valley.
