Before joining Citizens Online, Karen worked with young people in disadvantaged areas throughout the WHSSB (Western Health and Social Services Board) area in Northern Ireland.  This involved the development and facilitation of personal development programmes for people aged 16-25 years old.

Prior to this, Karen was employed as an outdoor activity co-ordinator and instructor in a residential centre, working with marginalised groups from all over Northern Ireland.

Karen thoroughly enjoys the challenges and rewards from community and voluntary work and has a real passion to help people instigate positive change in their lives.

Karen is currently undertaking a JNC diploma in community youth work at the University of Ulster, Magee College.  In her spare time she enjoys fishing, being outdoors, walking on the beach and spending time with her partner Michael and labrador Snowy!
