Rhyl

The Rhyl project is no longer active

The EverybodyOnline project in Rhyl was launched in October 2003 and closed in November 2005.

Rhyl is based on the North Wales coast. West Rhyl has a resident population of just 4,252, their main economy is tourism. The ward of Rhyl West was chosen as the designated ward for the EverybodyOnline project because connectivity in the area was low and there was limited public computer acess.

Working alongside Communities First, the EverybodyOnline project officer aims were to help regenerate the area by making the residents aware of how digital technology and the Internet could benefit their lives.

Sustainable progress

The innovative work of EverybodyOnline in Rhyl is now being continued by a national programme for Wales, Communities@One. EverybodyOnline Project Officer, Debbie Holmes, has been employed by Communities@One and will now be delivering projects aimed at engaging communities with digital technology across North Wales.
